With over two decades’ experience both in the UK and abroad Matthew’s career started as a photographer over 20 years ago working for magazine publisher Emap now Bauer Media. The work was incredibly varied ranging from golf, fishing, athletics, equestrian and hill walking. After 12 years as a staff photographer it was a natural progression for him to move into freelancing. Drawing on the wide range of skills Matthew has been able to develop a very varied client list covering a number of national magazines, commercial clients including a various equestrian manufacturers through to organisations such as Guide Dogs for the Blind and Kidney Research UK. As the demands for web sites as increased Matthew is able to offer not only still photography but also videography as a service to clients. This background has given Matthew a large skill set from which to draw on and as result he is able to adapt very easily to a changing situation and client requirements. This is reflected in the range of current clients.
It’s not uncommon within one week for Matthew to find himself one day at the top of mountain, the next photographing a riding lesson and then through to portraits for an annual report and finally products in the studio. It’s this variety which keeps his passion for what he does.
